Michigan-ism: In Michigan, there are “party stores” on most corners. They’re not where you get balloons and coordinating plastic-ware, though. It’s where you get booze, pop, stale bags of chips, and porn. They’re always dimly lit, dirty and gross. Why they aren’t called “convenience stores” like they are everywhere else, I have no idea.
