SPOILER WARNING: This page contains spoilers for events that take place in Books One and Two.
Charlita “Charlie” Madalena Kim
Age: 23
Sign: Taurus

Charlie is a stubborn, sarcastic, get-what-she-wants sort of woman. She is working as a hair stylist at Hats Off Salon by day, and slowly acquiring credits toward a degree in business at Elsing Community College by night.
Charlie and Garrett were next door neighbors when they were growing up. They have been best friends since first grade, when Charlie beat up a kid who was making fun of Garrett. (Garrett refuses to re-tell this story.) However, after graduating high school, she was re-introduced to Phil. The two hooked up, much to Garrett’s chagrin. They dated and lived together for just over 3 years, until she caught him cheating on her and broke up with him. Desperate for a new place to live, she moved into Rad House.
Charlie met Paul at work, and they hit it off after a slightly awkward start. They’re currently dating but taking things slowly.
Katherine “Kate” Anne Monroe
Age: 21
Sign: Gemini

Kate is the youngest, and most naive of the group. She can be slightly annoying at times, but she’s a great listener and cares deeply for her friends. She works at Copy Cats, where she makes copies, collates and unjams copy machines. She is currently in her final year of college, where she is getting her degree is journalism. Kate also writes a zine called Constructive Cynicism.
Kate was still living with her “ohmygodsocompletelyunreasonable” parents when Isaac flew into Elsing unexpectedly. When the two met, sparks flew. After a short but intense relationship, they decided to just be friends (and stay roommates.) Kate fell pretty hard for Isaac, though, and it can be awkward for her, seeing him around, especially when Bunny is with him. Kate is doing her best to move on and wondering if she really does have any feelings for Charlie’s younger brother, Keegan, who has had a crush on her since he was just a kid.
Garrett Robert Matthews
Age: 23
Sign: Pisces

Garrett is meek and slightly awkward, with a goofy sense of humor. He graduated from Western with a degree in Audio Engineering. He currently works two jobs: an assistant manager at Permanent Records, and a mostly off-mic position at WRAD, a Lite Rock radio station.
Garrett is a hard worker and generally easy-going, so when he started getting into fights and his grades started to drop in 9th grade, his mother sent him to a private school for music in Seattle. There, he met Isaac. The two were fast friends, and even though Garrett only stayed in Seattle for two years, the two kept in touch once he returned to Michigan. Garrett had just finished college and was staying at his mom’s house when Isaac unexpectedly showed up one day, encouraging him to get a place together and to “get the band back together.”
Isaac Edward Snyder
Age: 25
Sign: Leo

Isaac is egotistical and quite intelligent. While not exactly what you’d call “a ladies man,” he can turn on his charms and does so to get what he wants. After slacking around unemployed for a couple months, Isaac finally got a job answering the phone and making pizzas at Ellemeno’s Pizza, where he works with Garrett’s brother, Phil.
Isaac is an only child, and an unexpected one at that. His parents were – and still are – very well off and he was handed pretty much anything he wanted throughout his life. When they finally stopped paying his rent in Seattle, he hopped a flight to Detroit, completely unannounced, and convinced Garrett, Charlie and Kate to move into Rad House with him. He misses his hometown (and mentions it more often than necessary,) but has enjoyed the opportunity for a fresh start.
As soon as he got into town, Isaac hit it off with Kate. While initially turned off at her hesitation and/or outright refusal for “the finer things” (read: drinking, weed and sex), he very much enjoys her company. When he broke things off between the two of them, it was out of fear of hurting her – proof that his feelings were sincere, since he’d never had a problem sleeping with someone and ending things before. Around the same time that he met Kate, he ran into a girl named Bunny, who has very little hesitation to enjoy life, but is a little too impulsive and scatterbrained for his tastes. While they’re currently, erm, seeing each other, there is no carved out relationship.
